History of MedWorks Inc

MedWorks was created in 1999 by Wendell Gibson and Doug Lamon with the purpose of assisting physicians' practices, diagnostic centers, and hospitals with the implementation of nuclear medicine and ultrasound services into their facilities. Now ten years into their business, MedWorks has a strong presence in six states and has plans for further penetration in 2009. Wendell Gibson
President and CEO

Mr. Gibson's career encompasses over 22 years of experience in medical imaging sales management and diagnostic imaging services management. He earned a degree in Radiologic Technology from The University of Mississippi Medical Center in 1987. In addition to MedWorks, Inc., Mr. Gibson previously co-founded and served as President and CEO for Advanced Medical Solutions, LLC, a mobile nuclear cardiac imaging services provider, MedWorks, LLC, a medical employee leasing and nuclear medicine product sales company and Medovation, LLC, a developer of out-patient Diagnostic Imaging Centers.

Before co-founding and developing the aforementioned privately held companies, Mr. Gibson had comprised a successful career as an Administrator of multiple Diagnostic Imaging facilities local to the Birmingham, AL area. While demonstrating a successful track record in new business development and company start-ups, Mr. Gibson is highly recognized and sought after for his planning, development, and marketing strategies for imaging facilities in competitive market areas.

Doug Lamon, CNMT
Executive Vice President and COO

Mr. Lamon has dedicated the past twenty-six years to healthcare management services, healthcare technology, and medical imaging sales. Mr. Lamon co-founded Advanced Medical Solutions, LLC, a mobile nuclear cardiac imaging services provider and MedWorks, LLC, a medical employee leasing and diagnostic imaging product sales company. He co-founded MedWorks, Inc. in 2003 as Vice-President, which merged the two companies previously listed.

Mr. Lamon completed the School of Health-Related Professions at the University of Alabama-Birmingham, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology, and after completing the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board exams accepted a position as Director of Nuclear Medicine at St. Francis Hospital, Columbus, GA. In 1987 he returned to his alma mater as an instructor in the School of Health-Related Professions .

Mr. Lamon accepted the position of Nuclear Medicine Director at Healthsouth Medical Center, Birmingham, Alabama in 1990 and was eventually promoted over Diagnostic Cardiology Services as well. Mr. Lamon left Healthsouth in 1998 for a sales position with Nycomed-Amersham. Mr. Lamon is renowned for his management and sales skills, diagnostic imaging technical expertise, and contributions to the imaging industry in the Birmingham, Alabama area.
